Welcome to Canyon Village in Fish River Canyon Namibia.
Honouring the traditional Nama culture, Canyon Village is built in a horse-shoe design around the central communal buildings, set between rock formations in the rugged landscape. The stone-and-thatch chalets and the décor inside all the buildings depict the history of the local People, bringing in the spirit of the south and the Nama people – one of the first peoples of southern Africa.
The Canyon Village is central to the breathtaking Fish River Canyon and the Gondwana Canyon Park and is the ideal base from which these attractions can be explored.
About Canyon Village Fish River Canyon Namibia
Beautifully decorated in the bright colours of the Nama-style, each of the 42 cottages is built within easy walking distance from the central buildings and the parking area. Quiver trees and massive boulders are integrated into the buildings and gardens, creating a seamless connection between the outdoors and indoors areas.
Staff members wear their traditional patchwork dresses and headdresses with pride and are always willing to share stories of their history and background through song and dance.

More About Canyon Village
The Fish River Canyon is where Namibia’s longest river carved its way through the semi-desert landscape to form the biggest canyon in Africa and the 2nd biggest canyon in the world. This natural wonder can be admired from several breathtaking viewpoints, just over 20 kilometres away from the Canyon Village.
Enjoy guided or self-drive outings to the spectacular viewpoints into the canyon or into the Gondwana Canyon Park, to appreciate the special attraction of this beautiful, arid region. Short walks can be taken with or without guides, including sunrise or sunset trips. Transfers to the start and end of the Fish River Hiking Trail can be arranged and after completion of this strenuous hike, you can recuperate and rejuvenate next to the swimming pool at our Village.
