Desert Camp is situated just 5 km from the entrance gate to Sossusvlei and Sesriem Canyon in the Namib Naukluft Park. The 28 affordable self-catering accommodation units are equipped with an en-suite bathroom, shaded veranda with a fitted kitchenette, barbeque, power points and an adjacent parking area. Each air-conditioned room features twin beds and a fold-out sleeper couch to accommodate 2 small children (under 12) free of charge when sharing with 2 full paying adults. Utility boxes with most utensils needed are available at reception and fresh food supplies can be ordered daily.

Facilities at the main building include a fully stocked and serviced bar with big screen television, a sparkling swimming pool and 2 communal bomas with cooking and wash up facilities which are perfect for groups travelling together. Meals can be enjoyed at the nearby Sossusvlei Lodge restaurant and their Adventure Centre offers a range of exciting Desert activities to explore the area. A fully stocked shop, fuel and an Internet cafe is available at the Sossus Oasis Service Station.
You are welcomed at Desert Camp by our friendly reception staff. Upon checking in, guests can acquire our Utility / Ammo Boxes containing most cooking- and eating utensils needed for Self-Catering. We will request a N$ 300 deposit which will be refunded in full once the complete box is returned on check-out.
Desert Camp Reception
Fresh food supplies can also be ordered at Reception including fresh meats (house meats and game meats), chicken, salads, vegetables and bread. These orders will be delivered to your unit before sunset. Firewood and firelighters are also available at Reception. You can pre-book your fresh food before you travel, or you can book at reception on day of arrival BEFORE 16h00.
Desert Camp Bar Area
The fully stocked Bar is located next to the pool area at Desert Camp and is the perfect place to relax after day of activities in the Namib. The views over the Desert landscapes and roaming wildlife will captivate your imagination especially during sunset when the spectacular colours play against the surrounding Naukluft Mountains. There is Wi-Fi access available at the bar area and a big screen television for viewing news and sporting events. Opening times are from 14H00 until 22H00.
Desert Camp Pool
The large sparkling swimming pool at Desert Camp is sure to be a welcoming refreshment after a day of travelling or sightseeing in Sossusvlei! Enjoy views over the Desert landscapes and roaming wildlife visiting the nearby waterhole whilst relaxing at the pool area. Sun loungers are available around the pool area and pool towels can be obtained at Reception. The pool is only available to paying guests and is used at one's own risk. Children must be under the supervision of a responsible adult at all times.
