Spitzkoppe Community Campsite has numerous private camping spots encircling the mountain, offering varying degrees of seclusion. Certain sites come equipped with toilets and braai (barbecue) facilities (please inquire at the reception).
Camping at Spitzkoppe Community Campsite Damaraland
Late afternoons through the night is when Spitzkoppe reveals its real magic. As the sun slips lower, the temperature drops, and the rocks of Spitzkoppe start to glow a beautiful vibrant amber colour, resonating with the setting sun. You’ll experience a glowing sunset, followed by a beautiful dusk before it finally gets dark.
Now, there are two possibilities. On a moonlit night, you may witness one of the clearest moonlit nights ever, gazing at Spitzkoppe, bathed in silver moonlight – a truly remarkable sight. If there is no moon, then you will be treated to a sky full of stars shining so bright that it feels like you can see a shooting star in the Namibian night sky every twenty minutes. Look up and make a wish!
